Youth Fellowship

Junior and Senior High fellowship groups encourage our youth to engage the world, grow spiritually, and develop strong friendships with weekly meetings, Impact (Bible Study), mission trips, and retreats.  Meetings are held on Sunday afternoon and evening in conjunction with youth music ministries.

Compassion Child

A Weekly Donation of just .50 Can Save a Life!

As a follow-up to summer Sunday School studies on social justice issues and poverty issues, especially in Ghana, Africa, youth discussed ways to give back.  At Youth2007, the youth decided to sponsor a child through Compassion International.  Her name is Lydia Akuokor Ankrah from Ghana

Akuokor lives with her aunt and two other children in the coastal community of Osu.  She is a lot like us and enjoys playing group games, attending church activities and Bible class, and is in primary school.  Her duties at home include running errands.

Life is difficult for the 44,000 residents of Osu.  Half of the adults are unemployed but some work as petty market traders andearn the equivalent of $20 per month.  Akuokor's aunt is sometimes employed.  Common health problems in this area include malaria and malnutrition.  The typical homes in this community are constructed of cement and have corrugated iron roofs.

Our sponsorship provides Akuokor with Bible teaching, medical exams, recreational activities, social events, and extra academic classes.  The Compassional Internation program staff in Osu is also able to provide meetings the parents / guardians of Akuokor.

Sponsorship cost $32 per month or half a dollar per youth per week.  Such a small amount of money can make a world of difference in the life of Akuokor.  In addition to your donation, you can also write letters, draw or color pictures, and learn more about what it is like to be Akuokor.

Our plan is to sponsor her for at least a year.
